As Nettiauto celebrates their 20th anniversary this year, they have continuously proven that they are Finland’s automotive market leader. Looking at the number of visits to their services relative to Finland’s population, Nettiauto is now the second most popular car marketplace in the world, according to Erno Kalalahti, Nettiauto’s Business Manager.
The data comes from AIM Group’s 2020 Automotive Annual Report. Moreover, Nettiauto is now listed as the 41st largest car marketplace in the world.
Steady Trade Growth Despite the Unprecedented Year
As Nettiauto’s visitor traffic increases, the trades through Nettiauto has been strong despite the unprecedented year. Nettiauto has seen two months record growth in summer, with more than 140,000 cars traded in July and August. The growth from the previous year is 7.2%, and for September the forecast is about 5% increase.
Consumers' Top of Mind
About 300,000 users visit Nettiauto per day, and half of the users are directly going to the site. Finns going straight to Nettiauto’s services proves that Nettiauto is on consumers’ top of mind when they plan to change or trade cars.
Jaakko Haapakangas, Director of Nettix Ltd which runs Nettiauto, affirms that they will continue to develop the services so that they can help handle everyday purchases as smoothly and at the right price. They aim to offer a platform where easy and reliable transactions are successful.
Revolutionising Car Ownership
Traditionally, once the seller and the buyer have decided to continue the sale, the more critical stages are done offline and separately. Hence, Nettiauto offers OmaNettix where the users can check the current market price of the car and the date of the next inspection free of charge. The parties can trade electronically, which allows data storage and the transfer of ownership takes place naturally.
OmaNettix has been well received, and more than 200,000 car data have already been entered. The user can also store in the service information about other vehicles it owns, such as motorcycles.
