Fiare Director & Partner, Kirsi Johansson, will join the Business Finland delegation travelling to Namibia and Kenya (28th October – 2nd November) with Mr. Mika Lintilä – Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs. The expedition is designed to discover new business opportunities in various sectors, in those countries. The African adventure begins this week, as Johansson is in South Africa before she joins the Team Finland delegation.
Fiare already have a presence in Africa, with an existing client being Independent Media and IOL Motoring (the Drive 360 site was nominated and subsequently received an honourable mention for ‘Best Idea to Grow Advertising Sales or Retain Advertising Clients’ at the INMA awards this year). The business delegation is designed to scope out further opportunities in the region.
Kenya is the ultimate trade hub of East Africa and the most advanced economy in the region, blessed with a robust economic growth. It has one of the most advanced telecommunication sectors in Africa. Kenya is a leading country in mobile payment solutions (like M-Pesa) as well as in the share of internet users via mobile devices.
Transforming Namibia into a knowledge economy and upgrading web infrastructure are priorities of the current government. Namibia’s agro-processing industry offers significant potential to increase value addition and create export opportunities. Business Finland asserts that there would be use for the know-how, expertise and technology offered by Finnish companies in this sector and more.
