Time inc. uk and dennis publishing launch onsite marketplaces to monetise content and audiences

LONDON, UK – 29th June, 2016 – Country Life and Land Rover Monthly today launch new online marketplaces that will add revenue streams and diversify the online portfolios of Time Inc. UK and Dennis Publishing. Built in partnership with Fiare, the ecommerce and marketplace technology services company, users of the Country Life International Premium Property and Land Rover Monthly sites will have a more enriched experience, and see an integrated blend of editorial content and marketplace functionality.

Media companies are under pressure to broaden their digital revenues, and introducing ecommerce is proving successful for many publishers who can now position themselves as an ecommerce destination as well as a trusted advisor.

‘Land Rover Addict will grow to be an invaluable resource for all things Land Rover.” says Geoff Love, Publishing Director of Dennis Motoring. ‘With buying advice, technical information, great features and Land Rovers to Buy and Sell all in the same location, we expect this to become a destination site for enthusiasts and owners of Land Rover.

Advertisers, the main source of revenue for publishers in the UK, are similarly keen to see alternative and impactful ways to reach audiences. With the launch of these new sites, Time Inc. UK and Dennis Publishing aim to unlock the value of their content and audiences by introducing dedicated onsite platforms for buying and selling. Both marketplaces are built, hosted and managed by ecommerce and online marketplace technology provider Fiare, which provides white label solutions to publishers looking to diversify revenue streams.

“Country Life has always prided itself as the home of premium property. This new international property search tool is imperative to the site and will enable us to grow our presence as the go to destination for those searching for premium property overseas. This new tool also gives us a proposition to discuss and sell to estate agents around the world, allowing us to diversify in an ever changing adverting environment,” says Hazel Eccles, Director of Country Life / Time Inc. UK.

Country Life, owned by Time Inc. UK, covers a wide range of topics, from the countryside to luxury items and properties. Property has always been at the heart of the magazine, both in print and online. International properties provide a lucrative market for Country Life as other sites have focused on the domestic market.

“Marketplaces are becoming an increasingly important part of the monetization for magazines and other media companies. Brands like Country Life are trusted by a loyal audience, and have a unique offering. They are in a great position to reach out to users in a new way through these marketplaces, and by doing so facilitate transactions that are relevant and useful to the audience”, says Kirsi Johansson, Director of Fiare. In the world of ad blocking, marketplaces are an effective channel and are seen as relevant and informative, forming part of the content welcomed by the users.

Both the Country Life International Property site and Land Rover Monthly are based on Fiare’s white label solution for online marketplaces, including the hosting and management of dealer and agent inventory feeds. The solution enables the publishers to run specialist marketplaces that align to the huge range of sectors represented in the UK. As a SaaS solution, the deployment process can be achieved in months and eliminates the burden of managing feeds and technical environment from publishers. The cost model does not require huge up-front investments while instantly enabling a major new revenue stream for the publisher, enabling a quicker return.
